If the lakers win the title this year, what impact would andrew bynum have for next year?

first of all, if the lakers win it all, would andrew bynum recieve a championship ring? in other words, do players on the injured reserve list get a ring?

now if the lakers win it all, what impact would andrew have on the team? would he mess up the chemistry or would the team likely win another title? would they be a dynasty?

If the lakers win the title this year, what impact would andrew bynum have for next year?concert tickets

I think everyone gets a ring. Executives, coaching staff, players. Anyone who contributed and is still on the roster. Even Chris Mihm!

Next year or the year after they could be challenging the record for wins. With four legitimate All-Stars (Kobe, Odom, and Pau have been and Andrew could be), great role players (Fisher, Walton, Turiaf, Farmar, Sasha) they have all the right pieces. Even if Fisher starts to show his age Farmar is coming along fine and could start and Fisher could be the deep threat (kind of like Kerr and Paxson). This team is pretty young as well.

I think Andrew just gives Phil more options on how he'd like to play. He can go big with Pau, Odom, and Bynum, or run a bit with Farmar, Sasha, Odom, Bryant, and Walton. He could basically match up with any defense thrown at him or send out the right type of defense for any team.

And besides being young, they've all got experience. Three years in a row in the playoffs. And look at how many of them have started games this season: Bryant, Bynum, Odom, Gasol, Fisher, Ariza, Turiaf, Walton, Radmonovic, and even Mihm.

Things look good for years to come!

If the lakers win the title this year, what impact would andrew bynum have for next year?nba sports ,nba teams

What up MJ,

Andrew Bynum would only make the Lakers better. Some of the Lakers struggle against teams like the Jazz, Spurs, Celtics (very defensive oriented rough teams) is rebounding- so Bynum would help the Lakers rebounding and blocking shots.

The Chemistry shouldn't be an issue because the Center is th easiest role to play in the triangle--and Bynum was leading the league in field goal .pctg before he went down- so he just picks up where he left off- and you add Pau to the mix at Pf, moving Lamar down to SF, three guys 6 foot 10 and above, that can help them really defend the paint, with Kobe and Fish on the perimeter (a pretty good defensive team- with incredible offensive fire power).

You also have a great bench.

If there are any chemistry issues they could always bring Bynum off the bench or imagine what they could get if they decided to trade him (they won't but just saying-- it's a good problem to have- worrying if adding Bynum would hurt chemistry). i think him and Ariza can only help the team and if the Lakers are coming off a ring- i think you see the potential of another dynasty in the making.

Nickster
If they win it all Andrew, and Trevor Ariza will get rings, they were both vital parts of the team when they were in there....

(whats even funnier is Mbenga and Newble getting rings)

Next year with Bynum and Ariza back the Lakers if they are defending champs will be on the cusp of a dynasty, it could totally happen.....

They will have a whole off season to work things out, Lamar will kill at SF, Pau will be a hell of a PF, with the bench and everything else going the Lakers could win 65+ games next year, barring injury.

C-Bynum/Mihm/Mbenga (probably get rid of Mbenga)

PF-Pau/Turiaf/Radmanovic

SF-Lamar/Ariza/Walton/Newble(probably get rid of Newble)

SG-Kobe/Sasha/Coby

PG-Fisher/Farmar

That is one HELL OF A LINEUP!!!!!
Andrew Bynum and the rest of the injured players will definitely get their rings!

Now if the Lakers win it all, next year they will win another championship! I don't believe he will mess up the chemistry as the play will still be made to Kobe and its up to him whether he pass it up to the finess player Gasol or the power one, Bynum. At least now, he have options.

I think they'll definitely be a dynasty. If Kobe wins the championship this year, I think he can still win 2 or more even 3 more! If the latter, no doubt who's the greatest NBA player eh? Kobe %26gt; Jordan.
Anyone remember how that worked out for Duncan and Robinson in San Antonio (champs in '99 and '03, before D Rob retired)??

And they're playing styles are very similar, with Bynum being every bit of the beast that Robinson was in his prime, and Gasol being a somewhat less physical but more offensively skilled player than Duncan.

In fact, the impact that Bynum's absence is having on the team is quite clear in this series, with Utah bullying the Lakers on the boards, and pushing them down and demanding their lunch money everytime the Lakers come into the lane. If they were a poor[er] free throw shooting team, the Lakers would be down 3-2, and might have even already lost.

And that's another great thing about Bynum (especially when compared to Hack-Me-Shaq) --the guy can make his free throws!!

You add his hardnose defensive capabilities and inside presence, allow Gasol to play even smaller guys (which is still no short order in the west), allow Odom to play even smaller guys (where he should definitely flourish), and still have Kobe Bean Bryant cast as the second-best who ever did it???

Man, I smell a 4-peat!!!
Bynum will get a ring if they win. Heck, Mychal Thompson will get a ring. He's the radio color guy.

I'd like to see Bynum and Gasol play together though. The new century version of the twin towers. I could see a dynasty being in the future with this crew, but they have to play to their capabilities every game.
an improved bynum will give them a strong chance to repeat but its a work in progress he and pau will have to learn to play together and pau will have to play pf which wont be a problem on offense but he has a hard time playing away from the basket on D...........if that doesnt work then someone will be coming off the bench and it wont be pau.
everybody gets a ring.

Lakers would move Pau to PF and keep Bynum. Chemistry starts over when they meet and play during preseason. It will work out.

Dynasty, perhaps, but too many good teams in the West.
bynum would start center, gasol at power foward and the rest as they are
He will be like Robert Horry. He will get a ring when he didn't make a difference
it would have the potential for another laker dynasty!
ruined chemistry
he would just add to the lakers super superbness

What will you do if Kobe doesn't get the MVP, and the Lakers don't win the Championship?

Plenty of laker fans here, everything seems to be perfect for the Lakers so far. Only sweep of the 1st round, Kobe playing like Kobe again. Is it possiblethat the above mentioned question is not going to happen?

What will you do if Kobe doesn't get the MVP, and the Lakers don't win the Championship?nba playoffs

What up Obioma,

Each year that the Lakers do not win the title it hurts- so off course it would hurt- because we are in a great position to do so.

I would basically be counting down the days until training camp. Because with a healthy Laker team- they ought to be the favorites to take it all.

They are going to be a tough out- but you got to respect that there are a lot of good teams in this league and so you got to make the most out of your opportunities.

In terms of Kobe and the MVP-- a case can be made for a lot of candidates and i think we've seen in this series why Kobe is truly the MVP-- but you figure he'll probably never get it- if he doesn't win it this year... they seem to change the criteria every year... But it's about the team first and Kobe 2nd.

if the lakers doesnt win the the championship i will be dissapointed, if kobe doesnt win mvp i will be hurt. Report It

With Kobe Bryant and the Lakers playing at the level they are, I can't see them not winning a Title. The biggest thing the Lakers are doing right now is moving the ball around. If they do that and Kobe continues to get double-teamed there will always be an open man. The bench is dominating. Kobe is dominating, Lamar had a few lower end games because of fouls but the Lakers still prevailed.

I think that the Lakers, with there home court advantage will make it to the NBA Finals. It may not be an easy trip, but, this Lakers team is playing the best in the West, and maybe better than their Championship years.

Kobe's Stats so far this playoffs:

PPG-33.5

***-PG-6.25

Rebounds-5.25

Steals-1.5

Blocks-1.5

FG %%%- 50%

Yes you may say the Nuggets have horrible defense, BUT, they are also a 50 win team, may I also add that no 50 win team has EVER gotten swept in the first round of the playoffs.

Go Lakers

Go Kobe

Kobe MVP, Lakers Win Championship in 6 games against the Magic.
No biggie. We will come back next year and the Lakers, with all of its stars back healthy, will take you haters to school again.

You think the Lakers are scary now? Wait until you see them next season..

Muwhahahhahahahahahahhahahahahaha
if LAKERS dont win the NBA finals. its ok, they will have a chance next year.

BUT

if KOBE dont win the MVP... its robbed!
I would rejoice if both these things happen because:

- if Kobe didn't win MVP then CP3 would have

- a more deserving team won it all

- it would shut all the arrogant bandwagon Lakers fans up
Keep watching hockey and baseball and not really caring what happens to Kobe.
I disagree! I think that Pau Gasol should get MVP! LAKERS CAN'T WIN WITHOUT PAU!
complain to anyone who will listen that kobe was burned and the lakers will win the championship
Get up, go to work, and start talking about next year. It's just a game...
tear this muthaF down. lolz. nah but i think imma cry seriously.
i would be happy considering how bad it couldve been at the beginning of season
jump up and down in excitement! Lakers SUCK!
what do you mean what will I do????

C'mon man, I don't even care.
Just bring the title... could care less about some silly award...
Kobe jumped over a moving car man... he's crazy!
cry
Piss myself laughing , then drink myself to sleep happy that the Cavs won the Championship.
Laugh and say I told u so

Would Lakers fans be happier if Kobe won the MVP or if the Lakers won the championship?

If they had to choose one or the other, it appears to me that Lakers fans would prefer Kobe receive recognition as the greatest player in the league rather than their team win a championship. Is this the case?

Would Lakers fans be happier if Kobe won the MVP or if the Lakers won the championship?nba all star

I would prefer winning the championship but it would be sweeter if Kobe can win them both!

Would Lakers fans be happier if Kobe won the MVP or if the Lakers won the championship?tickets ,nba teams

Judging by those in attendance during tonight Lakers-Nuggets game, I'd say that Lakers fans would be happier if they knew their latest movie wasn't going to flop, or that their Gucci handbag wasn't going out of style, or that their sitcom got renewed, or their latest album got good reviews, or... You get my point, I think. Jack Nicholson's got old balls and Diane Cannon (is that her name?) needs another face lift. My god! Did you see her on camera? She needs to be placed back in her crypt immediately!
Championship and Finals MVP any day. Like Kobe said (not exactly, but the general idea), MVP is an honor but not what you play for, you play for titles. Kobe doesn't need a trophy to be recognized as the greatest in the game.
championship!!duh!!
I'd rather celebrate the whole team getting a championship for our city rather than just 1 team member getting MVP
A true gag-fest either way. I agree the Kobe is much improved, but how can you put him over Chris Paul and Garnett for MVP?
I would definately be happy if Kobe wins the finals MVP of course...
Championship anyday! we gotta bring that title back to L.A.
championship. kobe is already playing as mvp. if nba doesn't give him the award then the nba got rigged!
lakers won the championship of cos, it is a team effort
i want the mvp...the rest of the team sucks and holds kobe back
lay off the crack pipe my friend
I hope the NBA doesn't give that douche bag MVP...I hope the Jazz or Spurs kill them...that'll shut there little bandwagon jumping fans up...F**K KOBE %26amp; The Lakers

How would Kobe react if the Lakers lose this year?

Remember last year with trade demands and stuff? He is so competitive that for Kobe to be consistently happy he needs to win as well. I still hope the Lakers win but if they dont? Will he go back to his old self?

How would Kobe react if the Lakers lose this year?nba finals

I would still not count them out, they are in the hole 2 games but next 3 are at home. HOWEVER, if they do lose, I would not worry yet. I think it takes about two disappointing seasons for Kobe to start being an arrogant jerk. He will definitely place the blame on someone this summer but not to the degree we saw last summer or after they lost to Detroit.

(I picked 2 disappointing seasons b/c the first time with Shaq was 1, plus the last 3 seasons, and the average is 2)

How would Kobe react if the Lakers lose this year?college football ,nba teams

Items on Kobe's checklist:

By June 25: Do an interview with LA Times trashing the triangle offense.

By July 1: Do another interview with Orange County Register, and trash his teammates. Be especially hard on Pau Gasol.

By July 5: React to a Bill Plaschke article that criticizes Kobe for pointing fingers to his teammates.

By July 9: Have a sit-down chat with Phil Jackson behind closed doors.

By July 17: Go into a full cry mode "Trade me or else"
THE TRUTH

he cannot win a championship without you know who....

nobody on the Lakers can cover Paul Pierce

the Lakers defense is too soft

the Celtics defense is too suffocating for the soft Lakers

Allen has broken out of his slump

the celtics bench has been dismantling the supposed best bench in the Nba

cmon LAKERS have no shot
Kobe was only mad last year cuz his team was no where near championship-level. If Lakers lose this year in the Finals, they still are the Best team in the West and second best in the League. Why would he want to leave.

And dont forget about Bynum. A 7footer to help LAkers with their rebounding and defensive deficiencies. But dont worry Lakers will still win it this year. InshaAllah
He will be crying again that the lakers suck and demand a trade. Then when they get Bynum back, he will be happy and act like the miracle boy.
He will stay one more year cuz he get Bynum back. But the Celtics will beat them and win the Championship.
Kobe is over-rated.
Kobe is an arogant jerk.

I hope the Celtics sweep them.
He's gonna want all those 9,000$ watches he bought his teammates for helpin him win MVP.
Kobe only thinks of himself, he will never be happy cuz he's not a team player
he'll want a trade

i think he should ask to be traded to the hawks thats where the potential is for a championship
Yeah probably, he's a cry baby.
He's got so many rings and trophies...I think he'll be just fine.
yes. He will never change. I believe he willd emand a TRADE.
Like u reacted when u found out ur dad was a cross dresser.
badly i think
he would ask to be traded again

How amazing of a turn around for the Lakers?

Before the year start, during the summer, Kobe demanded a trade. Now the Lakers the #1 seeded team in the West and are playing well in the Western Conference Finals. I couldn't see this coming before the year start. Did anybody see this coming for the Lakers? or Did you see Kobe getting traded during the regular season? I didn't see this coming, a Lakers team in the West Finals.

How amazing of a turn around for the Lakers?nba live

What up From Darkness,

i think during the summer most Laker fans were upset because we thought that after Kobe's demands that the Lakers would have done something trade wise- but the only thing they did was sign Fisher (which wasn't even by design).

Everyone thought that they were going to get Garnett (only to have their hearts ripped out by the Timberwolves giving Garnett to the Celtics for not very much).

At that point- i just thought the Lakers knew that they couldn't find a deal to appease Kobe and i wondered if Kobe was going to sit out the year- and it was going to get that ugly. But not only did they start playing (especially Bynum) but just amazing...

Who woud have thought off the Gasol trade- i think most of us Laker fans at the time were hoping for a #5 or #6 playoff seed and hoping to pull a first-round upset to give Kobe some kind of hope and pull off something this off-season. Now we have a nucleus that can potentially win multiple championships in the next 5 years.

Mitch Kupchak went from being the worst GM in the league to being a top 2 G.M.

None of us saw it- but i don't think we could have wished for more. Obviously Laker fans are hungry for 7 more win and a championship-- but this year for Laker fans is so much more than we could have imagined- being able to keep Kobe- have him win the MVP and to have a championship caliber squad for the next 5 years or so.

There have been a lot of ref calls in their favor. You can't even breathe on Kobe anyway or you get called for a foul. I think it sucks that they gave him the MVP award during the playoffs. Any awards should be given after all the playoffs are over. Kobe is only as good as those around him and I don't think he has the leadership qualities necessary for an MVP award anyway. Kobe and coach are both whiney and I won't even watch the Lakers anymore. The NBA as a whole has become way too theatrical and sensationalistic.
Well, you know, NBA is where amazing happens. Last year, they were the 7th seed and lost to the Suns. This year, they pulled off a great trade, made the first seed and WILL get their team to the finals
umm, how were we susposed to see it coming. bynum didnt emerge yet, fisher nor gasol was on the team, odom was playing under potential
amazing. just think, during last summer. ppl were saying how we werent going to make the playoffs. now we might win the chamionship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They have been playing great all year.
Incredible what Pau Gasol and Derek Fisher can do for a team isn't it.
That's what happens when you trade a bench player like Kwame Brown and a couple of draft picks for Pau Gasol
DEB J u sound like a hater Kobe deserved the MVP and has been a great leader war=t the hell r u talking about
yes and they will win the championship!
not that amazing because they aren't going to the finals

Will the mighty lakers announce a top-rated center to help kobe win the championship soon?

he just needs a replacement for the big fat center that left and moved to miami. that would do it! and we lakers fans will dance in the street again.

Will the mighty lakers announce a top-rated center to help kobe win the championship soon?nba history

No top rated center wants to play with him. His selfishness is legendary

Will the mighty lakers announce a top-rated center to help kobe win the championship soon?nba trade ,nba teams

No. I say we do what should've been done before; throw Kobe on his behind and bring Shaq back.
Like who? They can't just call Yao and ask if he would like to switch teams! The Lakers will never win with Kobe, cuz they don't have the resources to pull off a major trade, and no one would want to play with that crybaby anyway. He ran off the most dominant big man in the game out of ego. How stupid can you get?

The Lakers best shot at winning would be to trade Kobe for a lot of young talent and draft picks and start over.
um hello we got chris mihm back is that enough?
Yeah they'll just pull a center out of their ***.
He needs a KG/Amare/Dwight or a Shaq
Unfortunately we have Mitch Cupcake in our front office so I seriously don't see that happening, Besides we have Chris Mihm, Andrew Bynum, and Kwame Brown. One of them will step up and give what the Lakers needed for a long time, also the PG position is already taken care of because the addition of Derek Fisher and Javaris Crittenton, so I really think the Lakers can make a push this year if we can stay healthy.
