Personally, I don't think Bynum will even play in the playoffs this year. He's going to be the Lakers center for the next ten years so it's not worth the risk. I think that even without Bynum the Lakers still have a pretty good shot of winning it all.

No they don't need Bynum to win it all and I don't believe we'll see him in the playoffs...He's not game ready and to throw him into a playoff environment wouldn't be wise. Mihm is healthy and got in a few games (not productive, but at least he's got some game legs back)...Mbenga has been durable and is definately a defensive + for the Lakers. Turiaf and Radman are a bit on the smallish side to bang with the 7 footers but both have been doing it well...The Lakers definately don't lack size.

Lakers are good this year but they could have some problems if they meet the suns im not sure if they can win with shaq and amare in the paint now plus nash running the floor. If they get to the finals maybe they will play the celtics and that will be a tough win for the lakers to, but who knows they could go all the way.

Will he makes a difference in the Lakers defense tonight if he play? I say Ariza can help the Lakers DEFENSE in shuting down either Manu or Parker, or maybe just limiting their offense out put. What your thought?

Yeah I agree with you. I think Ginobli is the key to the Spurs offense. If you find a way to shut him down than you've really limited their already struggling offense. Also if you keep Parker out of the lanes Ariza I think has a lot of length with his wingspan and people with long wing spans like Grant Hill and Marion have really bothered Parker. Of Course I think the real key is the Lakers role players whether they can step up offensively or will the pressure of the conf finals get to some of the young players. We saw a lot of hesitation and lack of experience in the Lakers matchup against Utah especially in the 2nd round.

i think the Lakers will have to work Ariza in, but if he's healthy it'll help, because he can provide some athleticism and defense that Radmonovich and Walton lack. It may also allow the Lakers to play both of them together even at different spurts. It only helps to get him back because it gives you more diversity- i mean you can use him to help with Ginoboli at times.

i think it helps us to get him back- and i think that you will see Walton's minutes go down.

I think that it may take Trevor Ariza a while to start being a really good defender because he's only coming back from his injury now. I think he'll do an okay job on defending Manu.

I'm finishing up my third year incollegeas a business student and i have no idea what to do when i graduate. Then I realized if I had a career working with the lakers i could really be happy. But then someone mentioned to me that you have to start as a ballboy or telemarketing selling season tickets and that there is not guarentee of moving up. Any suggestions? i think the jazz and mavs are just on a slow start right now. theyll get better. im a lakers fan and i dont think theyre the best team in the nba, but they are playing the best basketball that ive ever seen them play right now. they have a pretty good chance this year is the bench keeps contributing.

considering the fact that its the 1st half of the season, nothing can be judged right now. Mavericks can come back and so can the jazz. They're both good teams and the lakers would probally get the 7th or 6th seed at the end of the season.
they'll be okay, but can they take the jazz in 7 games? i doubt it.
They will be good but they wont be great, Im a die hard Lakers fan but I know the competition we have to face in the West. I do think we will be higher than a 7th seed this year, if qwe can get consistent play of Lamar Odom, Jordan Farmar, Andrew Bynum, Luke Walton, Radmonovic and Ariza (off the bench)...Kobe and Fisher are going to have consistent play.

Bynum, Gasol, and Odom are all big men who are very athletic and fast and then they have Kobe and good perimeter shooters.

First let me say that I am a Lakers fan.

No team s unstoppable. I would love for them to win this year and next year. But they have to play the games first. Wins and losses are part of the games. So are injuries and suspensions. Noe of us can predict the future. Who know who is going to have the next block buster trade or draft that will lift a team of the hump.

They would be unstoppable next year if all of the following happened.

1. The Celtics 3 retired.

2. The entire Detroit Piston team retired.

3. Jason Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki retired.

4. Chris Paul had a career ending injury.

5. LeBron James was too busy shooting commercials to play.

6. Odom became good EVERY night. Atleast half the time anyway.

7. Tim Duncan retires.

8. Steve Nash retires.

9. Allen Iverson retires.

10. Dwight Howard had a career ending injury.

I don't see ANY of that happening, so just calm down.
Well, I don't know about 'unstoppable', but they will be tough next year, which is a good thing for us Lakers fans; then again, they looked tough right before Bynum got injured...so many things can happen by next year, I think any comment on who's great and who's not is premature. And I wouldn't want them to be unstoppable; do you want that kind of pressure on them? Some losses here and there are generally good; they expose weaknesses and teach players humility, before such things become irreparable.
i realized this a long time ago my friend, next year for sure since bynum will get used to playing along with kobe and pau.

Unless one of them gets injured again next year that Lakers have great chance to dominate next year. But they will still have to challenge the Celtics.
