How amazing of a turn around for the Lakers?

Before the year start, during the summer, Kobe demanded a trade. Now the Lakers the #1 seeded team in the West and are playing well in the Western Conference Finals. I couldn't see this coming before the year start. Did anybody see this coming for the Lakers? or Did you see Kobe getting traded during the regular season? I didn't see this coming, a Lakers team in the West Finals.

i think during the summer most Laker fans were upset because we thought that after Kobe's demands that the Lakers would have done something trade wise- but the only thing they did was sign Fisher (which wasn't even by design).

Everyone thought that they were going to get Garnett (only to have their hearts ripped out by the Timberwolves giving Garnett to the Celtics for not very much).

At that point- i just thought the Lakers knew that they couldn't find a deal to appease Kobe and i wondered if Kobe was going to sit out the year- and it was going to get that ugly. But not only did they start playing (especially Bynum) but just amazing...

Who woud have thought off the Gasol trade- i think most of us Laker fans at the time were hoping for a #5 or #6 playoff seed and hoping to pull a first-round upset to give Kobe some kind of hope and pull off something this off-season. Now we have a nucleus that can potentially win multiple championships in the next 5 years.

None of us saw it- but i don't think we could have wished for more. Obviously Laker fans are hungry for 7 more win and a championship-- but this year for Laker fans is so much more than we could have imagined- being able to keep Kobe- have him win the MVP and to have a championship caliber squad for the next 5 years or so.

There have been a lot of ref calls in their favor. You can't even breathe on Kobe anyway or you get called for a foul. I think it sucks that they gave him the MVP award during the playoffs. Any awards should be given after all the playoffs are over. Kobe is only as good as those around him and I don't think he has the leadership qualities necessary for an MVP award anyway. Kobe and coach are both whiney and I won't even watch the Lakers anymore. The NBA as a whole has become way too theatrical and sensationalistic.
Well, you know, NBA is where amazing happens. Last year, they were the 7th seed and lost to the Suns. This year, they pulled off a great trade, made the first seed and WILL get their team to the finals
